NY Real Estate Outlook

Real Estate Outlook Webinar

Published: June 16, 2021

The U.S. real estate market was not immune from the pandemic-driven economy of 2020. Some urban areas saw a flight of individuals and families, while suburbs in areas like southern Connecticut experienced a banner year for home sales. According to Zillow, the U.S. housing market gained more in value than any year since 2005, realizing total gains of $2.5 trillion overall, primarily from the appreciation of existing homes. Commercial real estate, on the other hand, suffered sharply reduced demand, as companies moved to a work-from-home environment. In this webinar, James Fields, President of Klingenstein Fields Advisors, give a market update, then he and special guest, Bess Freedman, CEO of Brown Harris Stevens, one of the largest and most successful privately held real estate companies in the country, discuss the outlook for the New York City real estate market.
