Have a Relaxing Labor Day
“I learned the value of hard work by working hard.” —Margaret Mead

The origins of Labor Day in the U.S., a celebration of the “social and economic achievements of American workers,” date back to the 1880s. The first Labor Day holiday and parade of an estimated 10,000 to 20,000 marchers took place in New York City on the first Tuesday in September 1892. Congress, in June of 1894, passed an act making Labor Day a national holiday.
