Cheering on Dr. Marmur!
Published: July 11, 2025
Our longtime friend, Dr. Ellen Marmur, is a leading advocate for skin cancer awareness, prevention, and treatment. She plays an active role in the American Academy of Dermatology Association’s (AAD) Skin Cancer, Take a Hike!™ initiative. Each year, Dr. Marmur joins fellow dermatologists, skin cancer survivors, and other advocates on a hike to heighten awareness and raise funds for skin cancer screenings, grants to install shade structures, and educational outreach across the U.S.
This year, from July 12th to July 18th, Dr. Marmur and her team will take on the challenging Engadine trail and Val Bregaglia in the Eastern Alps of Switzerland. Since 2014, Skin Cancer, Take a Hike!™ has raised over $2.2 million, helping to provide 221 permanent shade structures for children, more than 44,000 free skin care screenings, and to detect nearly 6,000 melanomas, according to the AAD.

Good luck to Team Marmur!
